On Tuesday, January 29th, 2008, Rodney Green visited the Zildjian Factory at the invitation of John DeChristopher, Zildjian’s Vice President, Artist Relations & Event Marketing Worldwide, and worked with Paul Francis, Zildjian’s Research & Design/Quality Manager, to ultimately select his Zildjian cymbal set up, consisting of a 22″ K Custom Dry Complex Prototype Ride, a 20″ K Prototype Ride and HiHats comprised of a 14″ K Constantinople Top HiHat and 14″ A Zildjian New Beat Bottom. Rodney is now playing Zildjian Cymbals exclusively.

Rodney exploded onto the jazz scene at age 19 when he was asked to join Diana Krall’s band, spending two years on the gig. At age 28, Rodney Green is a seasoned veteran, having played with a veritable “who’s who” of jazz artists including Terence Blanchard, Stephon Harris, Charlie Haden, Wynton Marsalis, Ravi Coltrane, Christian McBride, Joe Henderson, George Benson, Nicholas Payton, Michael Brecker, Kenny Baron, Abby Lincoln, Betty Carter, Wycliffe Gordon, Herbie Hancock, Dianne Reeves and the list goes on…

Commented John DeChristopher: “We’re proud to welcome Rodney to the Zildjian Family of Artists. And it’s especially gratifying when a drummer of Rodney’s talent and stature is so excited about playing our instruments.”
