Have Dave Weckl Play On Your Record

Dave Weckl, noted studio drummer and clinic extraordinaire, is offering himself as drummer/producer/engineer on his website. He has a complete Pro Tools HD3 rig, mic’d up kit, and iso room in his garage! Personally, I’m frothing with jealousy. It’s one of my dreams to have a working home studio. Heard any good garage bands recently? If they were recorded in Dave’s garage, they probably sounded great!

Built by and co-designed with Dennis Moody, one of LA’s top gun recording engineers, The Garage is where Dave recorded and mixed the Dave Weckl Band’s release Perpetual Motion, where LIVE…(and very Plugged In) was edited and mixed, and where the band’s latest release, Multiplicity, was written, recorded, and mixed. And, yes, the state-of-the-art studio resides in Dave’s garage (remodeled to acoustic perfection).

It’s also where Horacio “El Negro” Hernandez chose to have his first two solo CDs, ‘ITALUBA’ and ‘ITALUBA 2’ mixed, and where numerous other artists have come to get Dave’s sound and/or drum tracks on their music.

The room is wide open, except for one ISO booth for sax, vocals, or other acoustic instruments. Since Dave engineers all his own stuff and runs the HD3 Pro Tools rig from the drum set, everyone is in phones and in the same room for recording live (except for whoever is in the ISO!).
