A weekend of events celebrating Al Jackson, Jr. to be held in the Memphis area

From Oct 16-18, the Stax Museum and Memphis Drum Shop will be celebrating the Life & Legacy of Al Jackson, Jr.

The Stax Museum of American Soul Music, Memphis Drum Shop, Royal Studios, and Memphis Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum invite you to a weekend of events that not only commemorate the 40th anniversary of Booker T. & the MGs drummer Al Jackson, Jr. but also celebrate his life and legacy  to raise funds to establish the Al Jackson, Jr. Scholarship Funds at the Stax Music Academy.

Area events include group drum lessons with Steve Jordan at Memphis Drum Shop ($100 per lesson, 30 minutes in length) on October 17, 2015, and a panel discussion and demo plus Q&A with Steve Jordan, Jim Keltner, and Celebrity Guests at Memphis Drum Shop on Sunday, October 18, 2015.
