Amen Break Owner Finally Gets Paid

Richard Spencer finally got paid for his work creating the Amen Break, arguably one of the most famous drum beats in the world. The beat is believed to have been used in around 1,862 tracks, and has been heard on records for Amy Winehouse, Oasis, N.W.A., and hundreds of others.  $36,400 has been raised for Spencer via a GoFundMe campaign set up by British DJs Martyn Webster and Steve Theobald.  Spencer thanked contributors for the money on Facebook.

“Thank you so much for this great contribution to my life…Thank you very, very much. A-men!” – Richard Spencer
